States of Guernsey achieve a successful Go‑Live with MAXIMS Electronic Patient Record

The Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey successfully went live with MAXIMS Electronic Patient Record (EPR) in February, marking the next step in modernising the island’s digital health transformation.

The go-live took place in the Emergency Department and on wards transitioning to MAXIMS over Valentine’s weekend, followed by the remainder of the hospital the next day. The transition was delivered smoothly, with clinical services continuing safely and effectively throughout.

The IMS MAXIMS team were on site throughout the go-live period, and worked closely alongside hospital teams to provide hands-on support, including assistance with user access, workflows and printing. Feedback from frontline teams during go-live highlighted both the high level of support available and the commitment shown by colleagues across the hospital.

Extensive preparation and close collaboration between teams took place ahead of the go-live with teams from deployment, engineering, support and operations, and IMS MAXIMS colleagues having a shared focus on problem solving, teamwork and clinical continuity to ensure services were maintained throughout the transition.

This milestone marks the beginning of the next phase of partnership between the States of Guernsey and IMS MAXIMS. Ongoing support will continue over the coming weeks to ensure staff are fully supported as they embed the new system into everyday practice and realise the full benefits of the MAXIMS EPR.

This go-live demonstrates what can be achieved through strong partnership, shared commitment and a collaborative approach to digital transformation, laying firm foundations for continued innovation and improvement across the States of Guernsey’s health services. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the States of Guernsey as we roll out further functionality across the hospital.
