Who We Are

IMS MAXIMS was founded in 1986 and works with public and independent healthcare sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. Acquired by Total Specific Solutions (TSS) in April 2023, IMS MAXIMS is an independant unit with TSS.

Our Headquarters are in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin and we also have offices in Suceava Romania and Milton Keynes.

The company has grown through a mixture of organic expansion and acquisition, including the acquisition of PAS and radiology clients and software in 1995/6.

IMS MAXIMS has developed and delivered web based, EPR since 2007.

Whilst the acute hospital sector is at the heart of IMS MAXIMS, we work across community care and mental health. We can work with any customer from a small clinic to an Integrated Care System across multiple Trusts.

IMS MAXIMS continues to grow through our partnerships and channels, our organic growth and by continually developing and releasing additional apps and functionality that our Irish and UK customers require.

Ian Johnson
Business Development Manager (North)

Ian joined IMS MAXIMS in 2014 after a number of years working within CSC, in particular as part of the team engaged on the NHS National Programme for IT.  His early career was within the nuclear industry and he moved into IT in the early ’90s when enterprise-wide networks, email and office productivity tools were still in their infancy.  Ian’s move to CSC shifted his focus away from delivery roles towards more account management and sales.

Ian now leads the IMS business development and client management activities across the North of England, looking after long-standing IMS customers such as Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

“I’m not ashamed to say that I became involved in healthcare IT because I was inspired by the aims of NPfIT.  Although the delivery of that programme fell short of expectations the simple underlying objective remains, that of helping healthcare staff to deliver better care and hence improve patient outcomes.  I joined IMS MAXIMS in 2014, an agile, innovative and customer-focused organisation, to continue my ambition of making a difference to health through the use of technology.”

This was the start of his passion for IT and the opportunity to identify and develop solutions to deliver positive change

Mark moved into Business Development holding various roles to Director level, building teams and businesses from the ground up. Mark has been involved in many projects often focused on reducing or eliminating paper from workflow. Often in a customer or patient-facing situation where maintaining focus and relationship is just as important to the final result as completing the task.
