IMS announces acquisition of preView Health Ltd

It is with great pleasure that IMS MAXIMS announces the acquisition of preView Health Ltd the provider of sexual health solutions to the UK from CIS Healthcare Ltd.

preView has established an important customer base in the Sexual Health (GUM and HIV) and Family Planning software systems market over recent years

The addition of this specialist system to the portfolio of IMS MAXIMS clinical systems signifies the latest step to incorporate further expertise in the innovative clinical solutions arena.

IMS brings 21 years of clinical systems expertise to this client base and having been short listed in the national Scottish Sexual Health procurement earlier in the year, has developed an appetite to increase choice, functionality and bring technical advantages of the IMS MAXIMS solutions and product development tools, to the benefit of the users of this increasingly important sector of healthcare service providers.

With “Staying Healthy” being one of the seven key themes of the recent government Healthcare review led by Lord Darzi, IMS believes we can further develop the potential of systems within reasonable cost but at greatly reduced delivery times whether for national or local requirements. With preView this naturally extends our portfolio of solutions to directly support six of the seven themes identified to date.

There are several ongoing key upgrades of the system for customers in order to provide version consolidation of the product, to deliver laboratory ordering and results reporting functionality and to meet the latest Department of Health reporting requirements. These upgrades are of the highest priority for both CIS Healthcare and IMS MAXIMS during a planned transition as IMS takes over preView from CIS. Our aim is to work alongside CIS to achieve this priority to the organisations, swiftly and smoothly before the transition concludes later this year.

The IMS philosophy is that in 2008 Interoperability, Collaboration between customers and other best of breed suppliers is key to providing national and local solutions to both the NHS and Independent Sector Healthcare providers to facilitate and drive forward improvement in service. We have successfully proved over many years our collaboration techniques with clients to achieve and peer suppliers in the clinical arena.

The MAXIMS and preView product suites are both web browser based. This technology allows for true “zero footprint” on the desktop, making systems easy to deploy, upgrade and maintain as well as all important ease-of-use with and robust security. To this end IMS can take the preView solution to the next level in terms of technology and work with our customers to extend the functionality to meet the current and future needs of the Sexual Health sector.

Over the next few months we look forward to working closely with CIS during the transition stage, meeting our new customers and sharing with them the knowledge of our leading edge MAXIMS solutions as well as our vision for integrated, safe, innovative solutions for now and the future.
