IMS Launches New Generation of ‘Zero Footprint’ Clinical Software
Hospital Trusts throughout the UK and Ireland can transform the way they manage patient data with the implementation of a unique, truly browser based software package provided by IMS MAXIMS, premier suppliers of advanced clinical software.
MAXIMS is a zero footprint application, requiring no software installation on the desktop PC. It works with an install of Internet Explorer 6 or 7 or on a Windows Mobile device. The nature of the application means that all information is held centrally reducing, if not removing, the demand on IT staff in terms of implementation, support and maintenance.
The system allows clinical staff to electronically manage a complete patient journey, streamlining patient data across the following areas; full clinical, order communications, scheduling, bed management, 18 week RTT management, nursing documentation, clinical noting clinical outcomes, discharge summaries and 31 specialist departmental modules.
End users benefit from improved accessibility and ease of use. Authorised users can have immediate access to the complete patient record anywhere at anytime. A powerful user interface allows users to perform functionality that traditionally has only been available in Windows applications. Users can draw and annotate graphical body-map images, use spreadsheet style grids and undertake many tasks not commonly seen in web-browser based applications.
MAXIMS software is ideal for large user population running from a data centre or hosted service with the flexibility to manage future growth.
All application and patient data is stored in a relational database, including documents, letters and reports. The preferred database of choice is Oracle 10g RAC running on an active/active database server cluster, for high resilience and scalability, however the MAXIMS application is database agnostic and Microsoft SQL Server is also supported.
